Have you ever just known something without any logical reason, only to find out later that your instincts were spot on?
Take a moment and think, was there a time you had a “gut feeling” and it turned out to be right? What did that moment feel like? Did you act on it or brush it aside? What happened?
That feeling in your stomach, the sudden knowing, the little nudge is your intuition speaking.
If you’re wondering what intuition is, go read the previous blog post where I break this all down.
Gut feelings are one of the most common and powerful ways intuition shows up in our lives. It is your body’s way of processing energetic or intuitive information before your mind catches up or a physical reaction to something your subconscious already understands.
Intuitive feelings may show up as:
- A flutter or tightness in your stomach.
- A sinking or lifting sensation in your chest.
- A deep sense of certainty that something is right or wrong.
- A wave of nausea, unease or calm.
These reactions often occur before you have a chance to logically assess a situation, bypassing the thinking brain and going straight to the truth because your energy is constantly reading the room, the situation and the people around you. So, while your conscious mind is gathering data and weighing pros and cons, your intuitive body is already tuned in. It’s sensing what’s aligned and what’s not, often long before you have the words for it, then your gut feeling comes from your internal guidance responding to the energetic truth of what’s happening.
If you’ve ever said, “I knew it in my gut,” that’s because you did. Your body is wise. The more you pay attention to those early nudges, the more confident you’ll become in following them. The challenge in trusting your gut is whether you’re listening for it.
Most of us are taught to believe that knowledge comes only from reason, research or experience. Some other reasons we may ignore our gut are:
- We’re taught to dismiss feelings we can’t explain.
- We don’t want to be wrong or judged.
- We doubt ourselves or overthink.
- We confuse intuition with anxiety or fear.
When your body reacts strongly, pay attention. That nudge isn’t just your instincts, it’s the inner truth rising to the surface. You don’t have to justify it, prove it, or explain it to anyone else, just honor the knowing within yourself. The more you do it, the more natural it will become.
These moments aren’t coincidences, they’re proof. Your intuition has been guiding you all along. Will you begin to trust them?
